The Background of the Acai Berry

The Acai Berry is possibly the hottest new discovery in the weight loss market in the last decade, but the origins of the fruit are little known. Well, it originates from the Amazonian basin and grows from the Acai Palm, and has been used by the inhabitants of South America, mostly Brazil, for several centuries now for the medicinal qualities it holds.
Each fruit is slightly smaller than a grape, being around ten to twenty millimetres in diameter and is of a dark purplish colour. The Acai has a slightly bitter taste when consumed, and the slow adoption of the West to realise the many qualities it holds could be a result of this.
The Acai Diet has been used by many celebrities and has been featured on chat shows like Oprah because of the seemingly 'too good to be true' results it gets; people adopting the Acai into their pre-existing diet have found that they have been losing dramatically more weight and arguably more importantly, feel more healthier as a result of taking the 'super food'.
But not only has it been discussed - in detail - on chat shows and in magazines, but it's also been the subject of bestselling books by nutritional experts like Dr Perricone. They claim that the Acai is the perfect supplement to take with the intention of losing weight because of the vitamins and minerals it holds which stimulate the body in different ways to have the effect of increasing weight loss.
It's important to remember to thoroughly undertake research before you try an Acai diet to ensure that it works for you.
